Planning a massive expo this season and need to keep the carbon footprint as low as the queue times? Check out our Large Scale Event Catering page to see how we handle the volume without the waste.

When you’re running an event for thousands of people, sustainability often feels like a box that’s impossible to tick. You want to be green, but you also need to make sure 2,000 delegates aren’t left standing in a queue for three hours.

As we hit the peak of the 2026 expo and outdoor event season, we’re seeing that “sustainability” has moved from being a nice-to-have to a core requirement in every RFP we see. Event Directors aren’t looking for greenwashing; they’re looking for vendors who have the kit to back it up.

Efficiency is a Sustainability Metric

It sounds simple, but the more efficient a kitchen is, the less waste it produces. Our new units are fitted with Rational Combi-Ovens for a reason beyond just taste. These ovens are incredibly precise, meaning we don’t have to “over-prep” and hope for the best. We can cook to exact demand, significantly reducing food waste that usually ends up in a skip at the end of a three-day expo.

The Silent, Self-Sufficient Footprint

One of the biggest environmental drains on a large event is the power draw. Usually, a catering village requires massive cable runs or heavy-duty diesel generators that chug fumes all day.

Because our latest vans are designed to be 100% self-sufficient with silent power, we don’t take a single watt from the venue’s grid. We don’t need the noisy generators that usually disrupt the atmosphere, and we certainly don’t leave behind the carbon footprint of a traditional “plug-in” setup.

Fuel and Packaging

We take the “Wood-Fired” part of our name seriously. We only use FSC-certified, kiln-dried timber, which is a renewable energy source that provides that signature heat without the chemical additives of charcoal or gas.

When it comes to serving, we’ve moved entirely to compostable and biodegradable packaging. We know that at a large-scale event, the “after-math” can be a nightmare for the cleanup crew. We make it easy: everything we put in a guest’s hand can go straight into the organic waste stream.

Scaling Up Without the Mess

The biggest worry with “eco-friendly” catering is often that it won’t be fast enough for a massive crowd. We’ve spent the last year proving that isn’t the case. By combining a high-output commercial kit with our signature open-fire grills, we can handle the volume of a 5,000-person event while keeping our environmental impact lower than a standard “fried food” trailer.

Planning a major event with strict ESG targets? You don’t have to choose between high-volume capacity and your environmental goals. Let’s talk about how we can support your sustainability statement.
